I believe most of the Lister gen sets from that era were equipped with a "Day" tank. I would guess somewhere between 5-7 gallons for that beast. I believe the CS plants were offered with 2.5 gal, 5 gal, and 7 gal tank sizes.

The 2.5 gal was engine mounted, the rest were wall mounted as well as having the possibility of a bulk tank connection.

That whole project came out really nice..  Alot of top shelf work done there in what, a short 18 months..  Bronco had good suggestions on fuel tank sizes.. What about a tank built under the engine?

With the weight of that thing the tank would have to be overbuilt to be in or under the frame.

Edit.. under frame tank probably would not work simply because it would take away from the originality of the unit too much ? You will think of something.

I'll put a cylindrical tank Under the Carb out front
Should look OK and since I don't have the control box that would have gone there I have a space to fill.

Hi Mr Trigger :D

Yeah - the domain expired & although I (and others) tried to get hold of the guy with the keys... we both failed.

I sent a mailshot to everyone to give an alternative URL; and lo, the domain owner got a copy & has renewed it.

So, we're all good until this time next year!

Cheers,
Ade.

ok so I did what I wanted on the oil elbow.
The water plugs and the oil elbow have the same 1"BSSP thread so I cut the offending leaker off the elbow and machined one of the water plugs to press fit into the oil elbow. I fluxed both pcs and froze the modified water plug, then pressed it into the oil elbow. Then poured on the solder. I hope we don't have a leaker anymore. I will drill and npt thread the corner of the elbow to make a drain, which this unit curiously does not have.
